Trash Collection Concerns

It has been brought to our attention that residents are putting out more trash than they are allowed during their collection day. Our regulations and trash contract prohibit no more than two (2), fifty (50) gallon containers be placed curbside for trash collection and container shall not weigh more than fifty (50) pounds. Furthermore, trash is to be in a container. We have also been advised that residents are mixing trash with their recycling and trash and recycling with their yard waste, which results in an additional cost to the Borough.

The simple solution to this problem is trash should be placed in one bin, recycling should be placed in one bin and yard waste shall be separate from everything. Effective immediately, if you are not in compliance with the container requirements or you mix item improperly, your trash, recycling or yard waste will not be collected and the trash hauler will not return until you next regular collection day.
