MINUTES
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMITTEE
DECEMBER 4, 2004

1. Meeting was called to order at 7:30.

2. Present were: Joanna Jacobs, Paul Bech, Peg Hebner, Lisa Aaron and Susan Wright, representing the Historic Preservation Subcommittee of the Planning Commission.

3. Susan made a presentation of the goals of her subcommittee. The power point presentation of John Gibbons was presented in hard copy format and obviously represented much thought and hard work. The result was an impressive presentation. The Committee had some suggestions regarding some of the language John had used. The Committee considered attending the next PC meeting to give feedback and discuss the document further. There was discussion relating to the concept of “view shed” and the legality of preserving such views. The Committee members decided to review the document in depth after the meeting and further discuss with the PC how best to educate the public about historic preservation issues.

4. The Committee went into Executive Session to discuss the ongoing litigation concerning the property at the corner of Riverview Road.




The meeting adjourned around 10:30 p.m. The next meeting will be January 28, 2004 at 7:30 pm.
