Revitalization
continues in Downtown Swarthmore.
In
1999, Swarthmore finalized a revitalization strategy
which outlined 32 action areas. (View
a copy of this document) Swarthmore
continues to address these action areas and its
downtown revitalization efforts with the creation
of Swarthmore Town Center, Inc. a program based
on the National Trust’s Main Street model. Four
action committees have been created to focus on
the following areas:
- Business
and Economic Development- Working to assist
existing businesses and attracting new businesses
into the town. Click

- Design-
enhancing the appearance of the downtown area
- Events-
creating events that help bring people into
the downtown area and make it a center for town
activity
- Promotion-
creating and maintaining an image of Swarthmore
as an attractive and vital place to live and
locate a business

program is managed by a board of directors:

Meetings
are held at Borough Hall on the 3rd Wednesday
